Rod and Simon Cowell are among the celebrities who have backed Daybreak’s ‘Donate a Day’ initiative.
The fully interactive initiative, which was launched today, will see ITV’s breakfast show encouraging viewers to pledge their time to help a worthy cause or someone they know who is in need.
Presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, as well as other members of the Daybreak team, will donate their time over the course of the week.
“Time is precious and in today’s busy world it’s easy to lose track of what’s important around us,” Bleakley explained. “Family, friends, the local community and charitable causes could all benefit from a few hours of our time. Daybreak is launching ‘Donate a Day’ to encourage you to give up a little bit of time to make a big difference.”
Rod, Simon Cowell, Pixie Lott and Paul O’Grady have all pledged their support, while the stars of Emmerdale and Loose Women will join the initiative in donating their time.
Viewers can pledge to donate their time by visiting https://www.itv.com/Daybreak where they will also be able to view the volunteers’ gallery and pick up inspiration on how they too can get involved.
