posted by Mike Walton

Rod, Sir Elton John, and Paul McCartney are rumored to have signed up to headline a special concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. The stars are set to perform at the 1940s-themed gig, which commemorates the end of the Second World War in 1945, at London's Horse Guards Parade on 9 May (15). The wartime singer Dame Vera Lynn, 97, will also feature during the event which will be broadcast live in the U.K. Other stars rumoured to be a part of the line-up include Kylie Minogue, Rita Ora, Katherine Jenkins, Gary Barlow and Brian May. Organiser William Hague says in a statement, "This will be a fitting tribute to those who did so much to defend this country." VE Day will be marked over the course of the three days in May (15), with parades and shows being held on the streets of the British capital.

The confirmed line-up for the concert and details of how to purchase tickets will be released shortly. Details will be released on
