Rod and Penny support Theirworld

A night on the town at the Theirworld & Astley Clarke Summer Reception in L.A

posted by Mike Walton

The collaboration between Theirworld and Astley Clarke was celebrated in LA this week at a reception attended by a host of British and American celebrities backing the campaign to get every child into school.

Rod and Penny, Rainn Wilson, Minnie Driver and Piers Morgan were among the guests who added the names to the 5.7 million people who have already signed the #UpForSchool petition. It calls on governments to deliver on their promise of a quality education for every child by the end of 2015.

Penny looked stunning in a sleeveless white mini dress, Rod matched Penny with a white blazer and shirt with a patterned scarf around his neck and polished off the look with black trousers and a pair of amazing Del Toro loafers with a scull and crossbones embellishment.

The reception took place at the LA residence of British Consul General Chris O’Connor. Guests saw an exhibition by photographer Simon Urwin, learned more about the work of Theirworld and its collaboration with Astley Clarke, which has designed three exclusive Theirworld bracelets.

The partnership was launched earlier this year at a reception on the Southbank in London. Astley Clarke is donating 20% of sales to the charity to be invested into projects such as #UpForSchool.

Sarah Brown President of Theirworld told SMILER 'We were delighted to have Rod Stewart's incredible voice to add to the global campaign for every girl and boy to have the chance to go to school and learn and support the work of Theirworld'

Theirworld works for a brighter future for every child through health and education. If you would like to make a donation to support the work of Theirworld, you can make tax-deductible contribution if in the United States or make a contribution via Theirworld UK.

As our #UpForSchool petition continues to grow – we have just crossed six million supporters today! – please help us build the movement for the 58 million children still out of school.

Please share the petition with your friends, families and network:

Jonathan Leung said we would very much like to keep in touch with SMILER and Rod Stewart's fanbase in the future. Please feel free to keep in touch with Theirworld.
