New Faces live album soon?

And everyone is keen for more says Mac

posted by Mike Walton

Just before his Southgate House Revival gig Ian McLagan told City Beat that fans might get a new live Faces album in the new year, Mac said that Warner Brothers had been slow to release archival product since The four-disc Warner/Rhino retrospective Five Guys Walk into a Bar came out back in 2004.

“The Faces sell a little bit but Warner Bros. are such a bunch of idiots because they didn’t realise if we haven’t got records out we can’t make any money,” McLagan says. “It’s taken a while, but there should be a Faces live album … out next year.”

The album was recorded in the States during the Faces’ heyday.

“We’ve just discovered this recently,” Mac says. “We recorded it and completely forgot about it. I heard a couple tracks and it sounds really good.”

Mac then reveals an enticing possibility.

“Hopefully we’ll tour behind it,” he says. “Rod’s keen, I’m keen, Kenney’s keen and Ronnie Wood is keen, so I don’t see anything in the way of it.”
