We arrived at Colosseum,Caesars Palace to see Rod for the last two shows of his latest residency, this being our second time at Caesars, saw three shows in November 2015. Both nights our seats were centre stage, four rows from the front. The great thing about coming to the Colosseum is it's close and personal, a great venue.
Rod came out for Friday's show in a bubbly mood, pleased to see quite a few fans, who had travelled from the UK, Rod started with Having A Party, after the girls had sung Soul Finger,we were all straight out of our seats ready to have fun. A couple of songs in I thought Rod was having a problem with his throat, sure enough after the next song he explained his throat was sore due to the air conditioning and may need help from the fans to sing the songs, which we gladly did,he seemed to recover well and everyone was enjoying the show. Next it was time for the acoustic set, when Maggie from Manchester was invited to the stage by Rod, while he sang Have I Told You Lately. Rod then leaves the stage to change while the girls sing River Deep.
Rod came back to the stage to sing Maggie May and lead some of band off the stage to walk through the audience, back to the stage for Stay With Me, when the balls are kicked into the crowd, not one was kicked into the middle section, where I was, Rod does manage to get a couple of balls up to the balcony.
Rod finishes with Do You Think I'm Sexy, time for the balloons to be released and that's it the show is over in 90 minutes, except for Enjoy Yourself, which I think should be dropped....But it's still a great show. The second night Rod included I'd Rather Go Blind, which he said had been requested by a fan and Rod sang it brilliantly, his throat had improved too.
The best thing about going to Las Vegas, is some of the band come over to Gordon Ramsey's Pub & Grill after the show and enjoy a chat with the fans and to have photos taken. I Managed to get a photo with J'Anna, Conrad and Di. who was very impressed with my photo album and photos of her, that she was pleased to sign.Unfortunately no show from Rod this time.
So that was it,another memorable trip, met some lovely people. And I Would recommend going to see Rod in Las vegas to anyone.
