'Changing Faces - The Very Best Of Rod Stewart & The Faces' looks set to enter the UK charts this Sunday together with Rod's latest album 'The Great American Songbook Volume II'.

In the Woolworths chart which is a calculated prediction of next weeks chart, Rod's new album enters at No. 4 whilst just 17 places lower at No. 21 is 'Changing Faces - The Very Best Of Rod Stewart & The Faces'.

The album is a compilation featuring material from Rod's Mercury catalogue and the Faces Warner Brothers material. It includes all but one of the hits Rod had prior to his move to Warner Brothers as a solo artist and also features key album tracks. It is the first such release to exclusively mix both Faces and Rod's solo material from the era 1969 - 1974.

The double CD was released in the UK the same day as 'The Great American Songbook Volume II' and retails at around £14.99. It comes complete with an 11-page booklet featuring previously un-published photographs, track details and an essay by Neil Smith.

* Last time the Faces were on the UK charts was in May 1977 when 'The Best Of The Faces' reached No. 24. In 1992 a Mercury set entitled 'The Best Of Rod Stewart and the Faces 1971 - 1975 made No. 58, but did not feature any Warner Brothers material.

* Several Faces songs are included in Rod's musical 'Tonight's The Night' including 'Ooh La La', 'Stay With Me' and 'Had Me A Real Good Time. The show also features the debut' of the yet to be released song 'You Strum, I'll Sing' by Rod and Ronnie Wood.
