No more stadiums for Rod

Touring in a different way next time

posted by Mike Walton

Rod has told BBC Wales he may never do a stadium tour or a long US tour again,
"I'm not retiring, but I won't be doing any tours that long and, to be honest, I can't imagine me doing these big stadiums in Britain anymore," said Rod,
"I've done them and I've done the other arenas, next time round I'd like to do it in a totally different way."

Rod's crowd tonight at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium might ger some nice souvenirs to take home if they are lucky enough to catch a ball as Rod has been asked to switch sports for the day when he plays at the home of Welsh rugby and abandon the footballs he kicks out to the crowd for rugby balls in honour of his Welsh fans.
Stadium manager Gerry Toms said a supply of rugby balls would be kept handy for Stewart's first appearance - on stage at least - at the city centre venue.
"I've only been there (the Millennium Stadium) once before to see the cup final between Arsenal and Southampton, where I was backing my old mate Gordon Strachan at Southampton, but I've never thought or dreamt about playing there," Said Rod,
"It's going to be a great night, all the rock stuff will be there and if it rains we haven't got any problems because they'll close the roof!"
