ANOTHER
PAPERBACK and quite different to Tremlett's
effort in that it gives almost equal coverage to the Faces.
It basically looks at four areas: the Small Faces, Rod The Mod,
Rod's solo work and the Faces as a band. It even briefly looks
at Humble Pie and Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance.
You may recognise many of the quotes used as being from Radio
One's excellent Insight series in which Rod was interviewed
by Pidgeon. One chapter is devoted to life on the road with
the Faces, as the author takes a job as a Faces roadie and gives
a fascinating and humourous account! The book boasts what was
the most comprehensive and accurate discography available at
the time, which includes everything by the Small Faces, Ron
Wood's pre-Faces work, Rod's solo work and related releases
by Jimmy Winston, Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriott.
Once again, this paperback is hard to find nowadays and is likely
to set you back at least £10.00 if you do find a copy
in good condition.
