Rod is backing a new campaign to get musicians to busk on the streets for charity He has beoome patron of Busking Cancer 2009
The week-long event aims to raise cash for Cancer Research UK through busking.
Rod, who beat thyroid cancer, said: “When it comes to busking, I’m your man. That’s how I started in the early 1960s on the streets of Paris.”
“It’s what music is all about — just getting out there and singing or playing for the sheer joy of it.” Busking Cancer week runs from June 20 to 27.
