STEVE TYRELL - TYRELL DREAMS OF RAT PACK TOUR WITH ROD + TONY
Rod the modern day Dean Martin?

Crooner and producer Steve Tyrell would love to recreate the Rat Pack with pals Rod Stewart and Tony Bennett. Tyrell, who produced Rod's standards albums The Great American Songbook and has just released a collection of Burt Bacharach classics, thinks he and his two friends are the modern-day Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. And, though he knows the idea of a tour is a long-shot, Tyrell is convinced it would be one of the biggest tickets ever. He says, "If I could do it and it didn't matter I would definitely go out with Rod; he's my buddy and he loves this music but Rod doesn't need to go out with me. "He's one of my favourite people and he's a great singer, a great showman... I could be his valet." Rod joins Steve and Dionne Warwick, among others, on a new rendition of Bacharach and Hal David's What The World Needs Now, which features on his new album Back To Bacharach. Steve would also love to add Tony Bennett as the third man on his dream Rat Pack tour. He adds, "The perfect tour would be me and Rod and Tony, but that would never happen. That would be fabulous. Tony is the man - he's the dean of all this music."
